Exploring the Yoga Sutras with Ramdas

We are delighted to begin the new year by exploring one of the most significant texts of Indian philosophy: Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras!

Through a series of 13 online sessions, joining from the comfort and quiet of our homes, we will be guided by Indian philosophy and meditation teacher Ramdas in the study of this foundational text of Yoga.

Attributed to the sage Patanjali, the Yoga Sutras are a central text of classical Yoga, a tradition later associated with the term Raja Yoga. They explore the nature and workings of the mind, the causes of human suffering, and the possibility of cultivating deeper concentration, clarity, and inner freedom.

In 196 concise aphorisms, the text offers a remarkably concentrated exploration of human experience and psychology, presenting a practical path of self-discovery and spiritual growth. Studying it invites us to observe how we think, react, and relate to ourselves and the world, bringing philosophy into everyday life.

Our guide on this journey will be Ramdas who has recently been living in Athens. He is a meditation guide, philosophy teacher, spiritual educator, and student of modern psychology.

He teaches Sanskrit and classical texts of the Indian tradition to people around the world and also offers spiritual counselling. His work is dedicated to fostering a dialogue between the timeless wisdom of classical Indian philosophy and the insights of modern psychology.
