The Myths Behind the Asanas with Anastasia Biliri

What is the story behind the warrior (Virabhadrasana), the dancer (Natarajasana), the turtle (Kurmanasa), the eagle (Gharudasana) and many other asans we do in yoga practice? What were these myths that inspired the naming of the poses, and how can connecting with their heroes inspire us to approach each pose, and life in general, differently and more creatively?

We invite you to our special course The Myths behind the Asanas, which will be held one Sunday morning a month with Anastasia Biliri.

In each seminar we will work on one asana (posture). With the necessary preparation of dynamic and gentle postures and breaths, we will analyze it technically and tell the story behind its name.

The story has immense power and is the way we interpret everything around us. The universe of Indian myths is a world of multiple kingdoms, full of sages, gods, demons, nymphs, kings... These stories offer a window into the value and belief system that pervades the world. Drawing on their teachings, we will touch on themes of yoga philosophy and also work through the archetypes and deeper psycho-spiritual teachings that the myths hide behind the cloak of their allegorical plot.

We look forward to these beautiful thematic classes!
