The Way of the Goddess with Emiliana Tsoukala

Embodying the Divine Feminine: Asanas, Myths & Dramatherapy

There are stories that remain indestructible in time, passed down from generation to generation, carved in temples and sung at festive tables. Stories of goddesses - fierce protectors, bright creators, wise soothsayers, who live not only in myth, but also in us.

These seminars are an immersion that invites us to reconnect with these sacred female archetypes - not as distant deities, but as powerful aspects of our own psyches and bodies. Through the interconnected paths of yoga and drama therapy, we will explore the goddesses Lakshmi, Durga and Saraswati as living symbols of our inner abundance, power and wisdom.

In many ancient cultures, mythology served as an inner map, a mirror of the soul. Working with myth is not just storytelling, it is soul work. Carl Jung refers to myths as psychic expressions of the collective unconscious, as they bring us close to archetypal forms that exist universally, and travel indestructibly through the passage of time.

We will work with the tools of yoga, where the body becomes a sacred meeting place, while dramatherapy allows us to express the archetypes, emotions and conflicts that reside within us. Together, these two practices offer a gateway to self-exploration and transformation - through movement and sensations, breath and words, stillness and myth.

Each day of the seminar is dedicated to a goddess, a symbolic thread of the feminine that we will explore through yoga and drama therapy.

We begin with Lakshmi, the goddess of beauty, abundance and prosperity. Her myth teaches us about receptivity and self-esteem, alignment with our own abundance and beauty, versus the never-ending struggle for affirmation. Through a flowing yoga practice and the tools of drama therapy, we will invite a deeper sense of inner abundance. Lakshmi reminds us that we are inherently worthy of joy, love and fulfillment.

In the second session, we meet Durga, the warrior goddess and mother who rides a lion and defeats the demon of chaos. She is the archetype of boundaries, courage and compassion. Her story reflects the struggles we all face - the inner critics, the self-doubt, the voices that say we are not enough. Through a dynamic practice and ritual play in drama therapy, we awaken our inner strength; the part of ourselves that says “no” with clarity and “yes” with courage.

In our last meeting, we come to the realm of Saraswati, the goddess of wisdom, language and intuition. Saraswati calls us to clarity, creativity and the expression of truth. We will move into a meditative practice, mantras and painting to give voice to our inner knowing, letting language, breath and silence be our guides. Saraswati reminds us that wisdom is not a concept to be learned, but a stream we can hear from within.

*The feminine archetype is defined as the feminine energy that exists within every man and woman, so these workshops are open to all genders who want to explore this side of themselves.
