Anna Petropoulou

SLOW YOGA FLOW INSTRUCTOR

Anna was introduced to yoga in 2010 and has been teaching since 2013. With Maja Zilih as her primary teacher, she completed her certified 200-hour and later 300-hour trainings. Both within and beyond formal training programs, she has attended specialized seminars and workshops with renowned teachers including Sue Elkind and Kate Appleton (Prenatal Yoga), Elyzabeth Williamson (Partner Yoga), Anodea Judith (Chakra Yoga), Jivana Heyman (Accessible Yoga), Michael Stone, Carlos Pomeda (Meditation and Yoga Philosophy), John Friend, Todd Tesen, Desiree Rumbaugh (Anusara Yoga), among others.

Anna’s encounter with Tara Judelle and Embodied Flow™ — a school that weaves together the somatic depth of Body-Mind Centering®, non-dual Tantric philosophy, and free movement with Yoga — was pivotal in shaping both her personal practice and teaching. In 2024, she completed the 300-hour Embodied Flow™ Advanced Yoga & Somatics Training in Bali.

In addition to group and private classes, Anna has facilitated workshops and retreats in Greece and Austria and has taught in 200- and 300-hour teacher trainings at Athens Yoga. She has a deep understanding of alignment, which she uses as a powerful framework for growth and communication within the practice. At the same time, she encourages students to trust their own inner experience — cultivated through observation and awareness — as something they co-create during practice.

Her classes are inspired and integrative, weaving together themes from daily life, Indian philosophy and mythology, with conscious breath and movement as pathways for self-inquiry and deeper understanding. For Anna, yoga is also a tool to cultivate more authentic connection — with others, with joy, and with the challenges of life. She continues to explore embodiment as an inexhaustible source of inspiration — a living pulse of curiosity and wonder that continually nourishes and shapes her practice, teaching, and way of living.

Outside of yoga, Anna is a Surveying Engineer, and in her free time she enjoys discovering music — much of which she brings into her classes.
