Yin Yoga with Live Sitar & Kirtan Party 2018

On Friday 20 April the amazing musician Paco Rodriguez will be in Athens! 
A dedicated Bhakti Yogi, we welcome him straight from India where he has been based and inspired for many years. We will have the honor to accompany with the sounds of his sitar our beloved Betty Papadopoulou on a 2 hour journey, from 19:00 to 21:00, with the tools of Yin Yoga practice and Sound.
The class will be followed by a one-hour Kirtan Party with Paco. Anyone is more than welcome to come and participate in the kirtan only and not in the Yin Yoga class. It will be our pleasure to end all of this with a celebration!

Yin Yoga & Sitar: 15€ drop in, 10€ April school members
Kirtan: FREE (you can only come for the kirtan)

Yin Yoga is a beautiful ceremony. It is adorned with rhythms from different traditions, recites poetry, listens and follows the rhythm of the heart and is dedicated to love.
In Yin Yoga we hold poses with gentleness for longer than usual, wanting to awaken the yin qualities of ourselves and find the space to bring Awareness into the present moment.
 

Paco Rodriguez (France):
Paco has been a professional musician since his teenage years. He started learning Sitar in 1994 in Varanasi (India), the same year he was initiated into Bhakti yoga and never stopped practicing since.
During the nineties he passed a lot of time with sadhus (wandering monks) in between Varanasi and the Himalayas, practicing yoga and learning about Vedanta and Hindu mythology. In 1995 he sat his first Vipassana meditation retreat and since insight meditation is part of his daily routine. Back in France, he lived 9 years in the French Pyrenees, in a buddhist meditation commune, Tapovan.
Nowadays Paco performs more than 100 concerts a year in India and in Europe with two projects Sitarsonic and Kundalini Airport, he leads Kirtan in various yoga centers in Goa and Europe and also provides soundscaping and soundbathing for yoga class or guided relaxation sessions.
Paco is 56 years old and is currently living between India, France and Greece.
